I strongly believe that there is a relationship between TV violence and the violent behavior in children today. I see it all the time on talk shows. Just the other day I was watching Sally Jesse and Eminem's mother and his brother on her show. The topic was teenage violence and rapster's music. They were talking about the lyrics that he puts in his songs and how it affects the young listeners. The audience was asking her if he was brought up to hate gays. They just didn't understand why he would write songs about that. Eminem also writes that his mom does more drugs than he does, and shows violent behavior in his videos. He degrades women in society and calls them names. All of our young viewers are thinking that this is ok to do. They see it on TV, in music videos, and on talk shows.
             The media is a great concern when it comes to the coverage of violence today. For instance, all of the school shootings that are blown up in new stories everywhere have a bad influence on their audience. A child that has problems in his/her life may see these things on the news and get ideas that are wrong about it. A child that may have behavioral problems may see the way that the whole nation is viewing the shootings and see them as a way to get the attention that they need. Think about it, if these shootings weren't covered as much, there wouldn't be so many ideas filling the children's heads. Every news story tells exactly how the accused strategically plans the attack and this gives anyone with a troubled mind the option of taking in the information and gives them a way to try and perfect it when they attack.
