got 5 smooth stones. He slung one stone at Goliath and it went into his forehead and killed him. He fell face down into the ground. David then cut off Goliath's head with his sword.
             David and Saul: Saul chose three thousand men to look for David after hearing he was in the Desert of En Gedi. Saul came upon a cave where he rested. David and his men were far back in the cave. David crept up to Saul remaining unseen and cut a corner of Saul's robe. David reasoned with himself and saw this was wrong and ordered his men not to attack. Saul left the cave and went his way.
             Another time, the Ziphtites told Saul that David was hiding on the hill of Hakilah. Saul went there with his 3,000 men to look around for David. Saul set camp on a road but David stayed in the desert. When he saw Saul had followed him, he sent scouts to make sure it was Saul. David went to the camp where Saul and Abner, the commander of the army, had laid down. Saul was on the inside of the camp. David and Abishai went to the army by night. Saul was asleep with his spear stuck in the ground next to him. Abishai offered to kill Saul but David refused to kill God's anointed one. David took Saul's spear and water jug and left. No one saw or knew about it or even woke up, because they were in a deep sleep.
             David went onto the hill and yelled to Abner, "Why didn't you guard your king? Someone came to destroy him. You have done evil and your men deserve to die because you didn't guard your king, the Lord's anointed. Where is the king's spear and water jug?
             Saul knew it was David and asked, "Is that you son?"
             David replied, "Yes, why are you persevering me, your servant, what have I done wrong?"
             Saul thought about what he did and replied, "I have sinned
