Many would say that baseball tells us a lot about ourselves as people and that it reflects on our past. Baseball gives fathers something to hand down to thier sons. It's something they can share together and bond with each other. Beside a father a kid needs some one to look up to like a hero and baseball has give us many heroes over the centuries. Barry Bonds says " people who save lives like firemen and police officers are the real heroes not Baseball or basketball players. The few memories that a kid has is when him and his father would go to the baseball game together or it's of them going out in the back yard and throwing the ball around. You can't get those experiences by just sitting at home watching TV. Kids have to be exposed to new and interesting things in their life and there's nothing more interesting then sports. Except many don't see the harsh reality of the game, that the owners and player play for the money not for the love of the sport, not all that of!

Labor disputes and the players giving baseball a bad name has tarnished the game. Kids are finding other things to do with their time like play video game. Also the fact that players these days are making 50 times the amount as in the earlier days, branding the players of being greedy, building the players up and then knocking them down makes people turn away from the game. Players must take on the responsibility to carry themselves in the right manor because they are roll models for the young ones. Being a roll model for the young kids is not something to take for grant. These days people want to complain that the game of baseball is taking to long and that the game is slow.
