             The Danforth is renown by Torontonians for many things, from its exquisite cuisine of Greek restaurants to the fruit markets and butcher shops that line the streets. When one delves deeper into the heart of the community it is easy to see that the inhabitants of this area are community oriented and quite friendly. The Danforth is an area that is ideal for those that wish to reside in a place that has the life of the big city with the complement of a small community atmosphere. Although things on the Danforth are not as they were some time ago, there has been a substantial amount of changes over the past fifteen years, and the community is definitely one that is in transition. Through the observations made on the field trip to the Riverdale/Danforth area, as well as with the aid of the information gathered from Statistics Canada and articles about the area, it is prevalent that there are signs of the community being in transition.              future there must be an attempt to encourage urban growth through new developments as long as the negative effects on the residents are minimal.
             The methods used to collect data in a case study such as this one is an important aspect of gathering information, as it can enable the researcher to achieve a conclusion that is well rounded as it looks at the main points in question from different angles. One source that was used to collect information was the use of newspaper articles. The benefit of using these types of articles is that they can be more current than other forms of data. Also they have the ability to pinpoint specific topics and give insight to the issues from the perspective of someone that might have lived in the area or know it well. Although the disadvantage of gaining insight into the author of an article's opinion is that it can reveal biases and personal feelings that might not be shared by others.
