Duke and UNC are two of the best-known basketball schools in the country. Both schools have great traditions and excellent futures in their grasps. Each school has many supporters and fans; the fans are very loyal to their school. Each person has their own opinion on their favorite team between UNC and Duke, but what do the statistics really show? What is the history of UNC and Duke, what have they accomplished? During the regular season and tournaments, who has the best team been?              The rivalry between Duke and UNC is one of the biggest in the NCAA
             (Carey C1). The games played between Duke and UNC are some of the biggest
             games in college basketball. In1995, UNC defeated Duke on the Blue Devils' home court. They were also victorious in the Dean Dome that year. Throughout the 1995 season, Duke did not win a regular season game against UNC. In the 1996 season, UNC again defeated Duke two times. Duke was still without a recorded win against North Carolina. In 1997, the rivalry seemed to grow even more. Duke managed to get their first victory against UNC in 1997, but UNC tied the record with a home win against the Blue Devils'. During the 1998 season, Duke did pull out another win against UNC but Carolina ended the season with two wins of their own against Duke. The 1999 season was a different story for the Tar Heels; Duke swept all three games against them that year. Over the five
             years, UNC managed to defeat Duke seven times. Duke only pulled off five wins against Carolina. The rivalry will continue as the years go by, and it will grow bigger each year.
