While the Americans value liberty, happiness and freedom, Canada takes a different approach of good government, peace, and order. In the pan-Canadian political culture, these values are very much shared. The Canadians believe government intervention is needed in many company ventures, showing more collectivism than the United States in comparison. Also even though rights to personal business and capitalist ventures are encouraged, because of its socialist nature, their citizens show a higher degree of reliance on government through many social programs. The fact that the government spends more per capita on them and interferes more in their economy is expected by almost everyone. In turn, Canadians are willing to pay more taxes for these benefits. This may explain why Canadians are considered more "caring" than other peoples of other nations, and less likely too take matter into their own hands or to get ahead at the expense of another.
