Numerous people began to participate and benefit from organized crime in that it was becoming more and more widespread and socially acceptable. If it weren't for McDonald's keen sense of business the crime rings of Chicago would have never become so extensive. Also without the help of the government in the passing of the 18th Amendment McDonald would have never had such a basis for such a vastly lucrative business.
