             -The U.S. Committee on Public Information, which is the government's propaganda and publicy agency was opened in 1917 and headed by George Creel. George Creel was a dedicated investigative reporter whose job was to convince most Americans that we must make sacrafices to win the war, and to make them believe the president, Woodrow Wilson's ideas. Woodrow Wilson spoke of his goals to have "a war to end war" "to make the world safe for democracy." Creek began the Creel Organization and proved that words could be weapons too. The company imployed one hundered and fifty thousand workers in America and overseas to spead the anti-German vibe and seventy five thousand people also called "four minute men" were sent out to deliver speaches about nationalism and "patriotic pep."

Fence posts were fought over by various artists. One Artist, Thomas Hart Benton, believed that an artist's role was either to fight, or to "bring the bloody actual realities of the war home to the american people." Millions of pamplets and leaflets, which contained the most straight foreward Wilsonian ideas, were spread all over the world. Booklets were covered with red-white-and blue covers by the millions.
