Everywhere you look, anyway, shape, or form; there is some form of sex on television. Is it all good or is it all bad? Depending on the way it is looked at, it can be taken several ways.
Sex is a good thing. Sex is a natural part of life that keeps us here today. But can the influences be as good? Today our society is growing up more on television, than any before us. Television has been considered the downfall of our society, and a lot of things have been said that television is bad. It is causing more problems than solutions. Sex on television, has long been an issue. Like in years past, generations have had problems with sex in the public. Now that it has even reached greater numbers, it is more of an issue.
In the new study by the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation analyzed the explosion of depicted or suggested sex on television. "It found what it calls sexual messages in 56 percent of all entertainment television. In prime time, that number jumps to 65 percent. However, among these shows, the study found that only 9 percent make any mention of safe sex or possible consequences of sexual activity." (Sex ON TV)
Sex on television is alright, if it is presented in the right way. Many programs are trying to help teach "Safe Sex" through TV shows and other type programs. They are allowing a more inventive way to teach safe sex. This way can and has reached people in far greater numbers on topics ranging anywhere from wearing condoms, to all the different types of sexually transmitted diseases. Shows like the popular Felicity to shows like E.R. and Party of Five. These shows are helping deal with the problems that a lot of teenagers are having with premarital sex, and helping children understand a lot more and a lot easier.
