In the case of Bene*censored*, in line 220 of I.1 he makes it clear that he wishes to remain a bachelor for the remainder of his life. Later in the he goes on to say that if he does become married he would allow Claudio and Don Pedro to "pluck of the bull's horns and set them in my forehead... and write 'Here is good horse to hire!'... under my sign 'Here you may see Bene*censored* the married man.'" These words are important as it shows that Bene*censored* is so confident that he would never get married that he is willing to risk this humiliation if he does eventually happen to get married.
