Obstacles overcome

             Everyone faces certain obstacles, road blocks, or handicaps in their life. A person can either overcome an obstacle or be overcome by the obstacle. I know of a lady who went through a horrible time and decided that the best way was to overcome the obstacle.
             My friend and also co-worker, was faced with a horrible situation that changed her life forever. As a mother of three, her oldest son was diagnosed with spinal meningitis. Throughout the course of his sickness, Lana, knew that the death of her son was soon to come. Every moment she had was spent with him and in effort of helping him get better.
             Then that the day that she prayed would never come, finally came. Her son died at 2 o'clock right after she had left the hospital for a long night of work. Devastated as most would be, she didn't know if she could go on anymore. She felt like she had no purpose and had failed at being a mother. She no longer wanted to be here and felt that not being here was the best thing to do.
             I have no experience as being a mother, but I do know the love of a lost one can be very damaging to you both physically and mentally. Friends and family was there for support and to sympathize with her in her loss. That just wasn't enough for her. Suicide was the first solution to her problem.
             After many attempts at suicide, she was then directed by a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist talked and tried to help her through her time. She was prescribed depressants such as nerve pills. The pills in the long run only made the situation more hectic. After a cry and plea from her youngest son her motive finally began to change.
             After the talk with her son the next morning she awoke and was ready to start a new life. She had decided that death was only the solution to her problems and not to everyone else's. She knew she had to go on and be there for her family because she was not the only one who had suffered from his death. Her decision to go on with her ...
