             People of all ages have read portions of the Bible at some time in their life. It could have been through church Bible study, Sunday morning worship, or for daily meditation. However, a large part of the Bible still remains a mystery for us seeing that we constantly question the Bible along with how to live by it. From Creation To New Creation by Tim Chester gives us a very vivid picture of the Bible as a whole. He shows how to trace the unfolding promises of God, which helps in seeing a complete Biblical story. This book displays a method of understanding the Bible with a Christological approach steaming from years ago while it continues to speak to people today. Chester's objective it to help people understand the Bible as one big picture by bringing the many different parts together. He takes four major themes into account 1) a people who will be His people, 2) a place of blessing, 3) a King and a kingdom, and 4) blessing to all nations. The application of the book is based on biblical theology with a covenantal view, which enables one to not just read the Bible, but also read the Bible.
             As Chester speaks about the promise of a people who know God, he takes us back to the beginning of time with the creation of man to bring us up toward what is believed about the future of man. For in this chapter he starts with the creation of man then goes to the fall of man, and also takes us to Abraham, Israel, and their decline into exile he also presents the prophecy, Jesus and the church. Chester captures ones attention very early in the chapter about the people of God by presenting a question that I am sure all have wondered, "Why did God create humankind?" For God's main purpose for creation was that we be religious, social, and cultural while on earth.
