Hamlet

             Did William Shakespeare ever foresee that his play Hamlet would be later modified into several film adaptations? Did he ever have any visions of how the film would be produced? When Hamlet was created into a film, the version of the play that would best uphold Shakespeare's vision would be Franco Zefirelli's account produced in1990. With the use of amazing characters, particularly Mel Gibson as the main role of Hamlet, and incredible settings, Zefirelli fulfills Shakespeare's desires.
             Shakespeare's vision of his film would include a strong, versatile main character. He would use someone that could fully embody and bring his character to life. Zefirelli's Hamlet uses Mel Gibson as the leading role. Mel Gibson's interpretation of the character Hamlet is absolutely brilliant. For example, in an excellent scene where Hamlet is saying, "You would not play upon this pipe (or flute), but you would play me..." (Need act)Mel Gibson pins the man to whom he is speaking against (find name) a nearby brick wall with the musical instrument, a recorder. Mel adds a sort of genuineness and sincerity to the struggles Hamlet is facing in trying to determine the morally correct path in which to respond to his father's untimely death. Gibson was a superb choice for the play of Hamlet because he adds depth and uses appropriate emotion.
             Shakespeare would also use supporting characters that qualify to the same standards as his leading role. He would use actors who have the best ability to bring his play to life. The Zefirelli version of Hamlet contains incredible performances by Alan Bates who plays the villainous King, and while he has no standout scenes, his performance is solid overall. Glenn Close is Gertrude, the Queen of Denmark. She has incredible acting abilities especially towards the end of the play when she realizes she has been poisoned and looks wide-eyed toward the King with disbelief and horror (Find Act). Helen...
