crack-cocaine and alcoholic beverages are highly addictive and end up ruining families and relationships in the long run. Society accepts alcohol because it is legal and because most of society is addicted to alcohol in some form as well. They seem to be leading normal lives. So what harm can it be? The answer is--a multitude of harm. Just because something is legal does not mean it is safe to abuse. You certainly would not get this idea from watching American television or by reading our popular magazines.
             From the moment we are able to see and comprehend we are programmed to believe that alcohol has the capability to make all of our troubles and stress vanish. Almost every single beer commercial depicts middle-aged men sitting around a drab house having a terrible time until they pop a top of their favorite brew. Instantly, their drab apartment turns into a plush beach condo with hundreds of bikini-clad beauties just waiting on their next chance to serve their men a tall glass of beer.
