For example, Marta Harnecker as a result of her studies has concluded that it is up to the revolutionary vanguard in each country to elaborate a strategy for that country's transition that is based upon a careful analysis of the characteristics of the country's class struggle. Furthermore, the importance of taking into account the particularities of each country in the construction of socialism is stressed by Carlos Rafael Rodriguez, one of the leaders of the Cuban Communist Party. He states that 'ignorance of what is particular leads to grave errors in strategy and tactics.'
             Another scholar, Charles Bettelheim uses Marxist theory and analysis to demonstrate that there are different forms of societal transition in existence today in the Third World and that one should not be confused by the label 'socialist' in cases where no transition to socialism is involved.
