There is one single question that boggles the minds of even some of the top philosophers in the world. The odd thing is that this question is seemingly one of the simplest questions ever asked, "Where did life come from?" Intelligent design has been widely debated through recent years. Charles Darwin had much to do with these debates by coming up with an antithesis to the theory of intelligent design called the theory of evolution. Because no one was there at the formation of life, these two theories cannot be proven by the use of true scientific method (using the five senses). However, scientific method is not the only way to gain the truth. "For example, legal authorities recognize the validity of a prima facie case, which is acknowledged to exist when adequate evidence is available to establish the presumption of a fact that, unless such fact can be refuted, legally stands proven" (Jackson 13).              Teleology refers to the study of purpose or design. Applied to the topic of evolution versus creation, teleology would say that there could not be a design without a designer (i.e. creation without a creator). For example, if a person were to walk outside their house and see a sports car sitting in their front yard, logically they would assume someone made it. If only the argument were that simple. When evolutionists factor in the timetable, their theory seems to become more logical. Throughout billions of years the universe and everything in it formed from essentially nothing.
