Education in my life has changed drastically since I have come to college. There was one distinguishing moment that I can remember that made me choose college over entering the workforce. During my freshman year at college, I tore my groin during summer football practice. I had to leave college and go back to my hometown to let the injury heal. This was a major low point in my life and the choices that followed have made me the person I am today.
             After my injury, I was not sure if I wanted to go to college any more, I was thinking of being trained in a trade and forgetting about college. A friend of my father gave me a job as an electrician. At first, I loved the job because always having money in my pocket was a great feeling. A month went by, winter was coming, and the weather was cold. The job did not seem like too much fun anymore. It was Thanksgiving weekend and all my friends were home telling me what a great time they were having at their colleges. I wanted to be a part of that experience and not feel like I was missing out on something great. The other reason for my change of heart was that I experienced a taste of real life for a month. Working as an electrician showed me that I wanted more out of life. Reality hit me and I finally realized that if I wanted more out of life, I needed college to lead me in the right direction. This choice was the best one I have made in my short life and I would not ch!

             Coming to college gave me an opportunity to do what I wanted to do and what I know I would enjoy doing as a job in the future. In high school I squeaked by and did only enough to get through the four years. I feel like I have received a second chance at college and to let that slip away would not be a smart move. My parents are behind me one hundred percent and that is what motivates me to do well in college. I don't want to let them do
