Bach Canta No. 82

The movement I picked for Bach was, "Cantata No. 82" the movement included such instruments as, oboe, violins, viola, cello, and a tenor voice. The movement started with an oboe solo, leading to the tenor voice. The strings in this movement played the harmony, while the voice and oboe play the melody in canon. But I would say that the oboe led into the tenor voice, and thus creating two countering parts. The piece was in F sharp minor scale, so the movement was dark color. It was slow and depressing movement, as if someone had lost a truelove. The tenor voice sang in German, adding to the evilness and darkness of the song. Throughout the movement , I couldn't stop but thinking about how the Europeans lived back then. I loved this song, the oboe was my favorite, it introduced the melody and it seemed as if they teamed up with the tenor voice, in serenading the long lost love. It also seemed as if the tenor play the low part, and the oboe played the higher part. Overall I liked !
the piece it was a good mixture of harmony and melody. And if someone ever feels like crying and feel depressed I recommend this piece to everyone. Now I understand why Bach was a musical genius.
