One of the most fulfilling acts of community service that I have taken part in was the Goodwill Clothing Drive through my school's Student Government. This activity is so important to me because it was my first volunteering experience. I participated in this project last year as a junior. I was totally involved in this activity. I helped plan the event and I was one of the few people who actually wanted to work on the truck and collect goods from all of the donators.
             I was outside in the cold weather for about two hours simply waiting for people to come and drop off anything that they were willing to donate. At the time I didn't really appreciate it because it was cold, but later I really cherished the experience.
             By taking part in this activity I proved to myself that I am becoming a better person. In my younger years I would've never even considered giving my time to help others. I saw that type of selfishness in some of my friends who weren't willing to help. I now see that helping others comes back to you because I have felt further blessed since the clothing drive.
             I feel very good to know that the less fortunate will benefit from my work. I feel that sometimes you have to give back what you get. I am very blessed and helping people get a leg up is a blessing to them and me. Service is a part of life and everyone should try to help one another.
