Tattoos

             According to citizens in our social environment, tattoos are life threatening and destructive towards ones body. However, individuals of all ages are intrigued by permanent body art. Watching television shows on MTV leads the viewer to believe that tattoos are the new fad, but MTV does not explain the life threatening events that may occur after the tattoo is permanently drawn on ones body. Although one may be intrigued by tattoos, an individual must think about the life threatening events that may occur.
             Those with tattoos believe that diseases contracted from needles are just a myth. Nevertheless, those who use needles that are not sterilized can be infected with AIDS or more commonly Hepititis B. Among those who recieve these bloode borne diseases are young adults that have little or no knowledge on tattoos. Bloode borne diseases are a big concern but not the only concern when getting a tattoo.
             Citizens on the opposing side believe that the ink used to create tattoos is harmless. However, reactions caused by the ink can be described as itchiness orsweeling of the skin. In most cases, reactions may occur three to five years after the tattoo is placed upon the skin. Some individuals later on in life have reported irritation as late as twenty years later. Even though a great deal of individuals do not pass away from tattoos, there are a few that may due to health issues.
             Many of those who are thinking about getting a tattoo believe that tattoos do not cause death. Even though death is not a concurring event, death still may still occur. If an individual has health problems such as diabetes, the individual is strongly urged to not et the tattoo due to the severe bloode loss. One must think whether a tattoo is worth the risk of getting sick or dying from.
