lack of recognition, Poe was disappointed and began writing short stories. Some of Poe's most famous short stories include The Raven , The Fall of the House of Usher, The Tell-Tale Heart, The Pit and the Pendulum and The Cask of Amontillado. On May 16, 1836 Poe married his cousin Virginia. He continued writing and worked as an editor for several magazines. The last years of Poe's life were very tragic. His wife Virginia died of tuberculosis, in 1847, the same illness that took the life of his mother years earlier. Poe already known for his alcoholic tendencies, continued to use alcohol to ease his despair. In 1849, Poe was found Semiconscious and quite ill outside an Irish tavern in Baltimore. Poe remained unconscious in a Washington hospital, and died on October 7th.
             James Douglas Morrison was born on December 8, 1943 in Melbourne
             Florida. He is well known as the founder of the famous band "The Doors". Jim's father, Steve Morrison, served in the military, so therefore his family moved around throughout his developmental years. "It was outside Albuquerque, while traveling with his parents on the highway from Santa Fe, that Jim experienced what he would later dramatically describe as "The most important moment of my life" (Hopkins & Sugarman, 6). They came upon a truck that had overturned and saw injured and dying Pueblo Indians lying on the asphalt.
