             To Whom it May Concern

             Candidate's Name: Trey Fetterhoff

             Date: May 24, 2000

I am the father of the above candidate and will try to give you the profile that you request.

Trey has lived with me for the past four years and has grown to be a very mature individual. At the end of next month he will be 19 years old. He is very personable and many adults who have met him have remarked to his mother and I how polite he is. He has a very wide circle of friends who sometimes I feel detract from his concentration on schoolwork.

Each year in high school he has played football in spite of being virtually the smallest in height as well as the lightest in weight. I was concerned for his safety because many of the players he came up against were 50 to 100 pounds heavier. He loves the sport, is a talented broken field runner and a fearless tackler.

For the past three years Trey has been on the wrestling team. He wrestles at the 112 pound weight class. He has done well at the sport and has either been third, fourth or fifth in Western MA at his weight.

Academically, Trey's performance has been sporadic. I would generalize by saying that he does well in communication dependent subjects -- english, law, Spanish and drama. He did not do well in biology, chemistry or history. Sometimes his performance is directly proportional to the rapport he has with his teacher. It's too bad that some students, like Trey, can't motivate themselves in spite of a teacher's personality or instructional style.

One of the reasons why Trey wants to go to a private school for one year prior to college is to help discipline himself as well as improve his college-of-choice opportunities. In my opinion, I feel he realizes that he has been living in a social swirl -- telephone calls, cellphones and beepers. I think he sees that going to private school will provide the disciplined atmosphere that is lacking in today's high schools and homes.

             Yours truly,
