In the play "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare, two characters, from the different sides of the feud fall in love they are Romeo and Juliet. Their families have been in a fight for a long time and the reason isn't clear. The feud is the source of most of the dramatic tension in the play and the reason for the tragedy.
In the balcony scene you get a view of how they are not to be together. They are constantly watch out to see if someone will see or hear them. Juliet even says to Romeo "If they catch thee they will murder thee." They both know that they will be an enormous amount of trouble.
When Tybalt killed Mercutio Romeo then killed Tybalt, which created trouble for Romeo and Juliet. Juliet started to question her love for Romeo. She didn't know if it was real. She was also grieving over her cousin Tybalt that she was close to. Also Romeo was banished form Varona. With Romeo gone she has the time to doubt their love. With him banished Juliet and him could not be together physically or emotionally.
When Tybalt is killed Juliet's father forces her to marry Paris. Tybalt was a kinsman to the prince and with him dead they are no longer related to the prince. But Paris is. So if Juliet marries Paris they will then be related to the prince again.
The feud is the reason for all of the trouble. With out the feud Romeo and Juliet would be able to go out without having to sneak around. Also they would be able to marry with their parents being there.
