The traditional forms of literacy can be considered as the reading and writing alphabetic characters. This form is set in stone and will always be apart of our everyday activities. On the other hand as the years past by different types of literacy started to expand and form. The form that included text-based and alphabetic information is still used and enforced, but through that original form more windows have started to open which enforced new classification types. I have narrowed down these types of literacy forms into three categories. These categories include text based literacy which is basically the form we are all familiar with. This form of literacy is connected with the basic recognition of letters to form words and words to from sentences. Text based literacy is broken down into 3 sub-categories which include narrative literacy, expository literacy, and document literacy. , I will go over these three sub-categories thoroughly in the context of my paper. The next category will be that of representational literacy. This form of literacy is dealing with the process of analyzing and processing information. Then the last category I will go over will be the form of literacy associated with technology and how one may adapt to it. This from is called tool literacy. With all of this information in mind, the tour on the wonderful world of literacy will begin.
