             Hybels is about practical advice drawn from personal experiences from
             the authors own lives and experiences in the how to make decisions on
             who to marry and making marriage last a life time. "Bridging the gap
             between estrangement and intimacy"( pg 4) Their approach is based on
             the biblical teaching God put forth for man, with a little psychology, and
             a lot of good old common sense to spice it up. Their theme is to keep
             God first, be cautious in mate selection, once married when you get
             hung up in a relationship tie a knot and hang on, don't ever give up.
             The consequences are much worse than the working through process.
             And remembering to appreciate the uniqueness of your mate and your
             self in the relationship. "To be different is not wrong." Their
             perspective throughout the book is a belief in "working through" and
             comes from a Christian perspective and the bible as a bases for
             resolving the conflicts of love, life, and self growth in marriage.
             With our personal perception of who God is at the core of every
             person on earth it makes perfect sense to investigate your potential
             mates understanding or perspective of who their God is and who we are
             through him. Whether its based on biblical facts, religious myths, or no
             faith at all we all walk our paths in our connection to our belief in God.
             Man can no more separate God from our core than a snake can fly.
             Though we do try! And we do deny him room to guide us in certain
             areas of our lives. Sometimes all areas. But our values are still there;
             good and bad, right or wrong. This book put together much I already
             knew in an easy to relate to form. I had all the pieces of the puzzle but
