It's a small world after all. Going to different states, cities, or even just around your local neighborhood, you can find many different people and cultures. American society is filled with culturally diverse people who open us up to a new way of thinking, and help us perceive other nations with a less myopic view. As a culturally diverse person myself, I always enjoy learning about others and their background. A plethora of information can overwhelm my mind just by chatting with someone who is diverse culturally, academically, and economically. With a culturally diverse campus like yours, meeting someone who is diverse can expose my intellect to many new waves of thought.
             After receiving my dormitory assignment and opening the door, meeting someone from Europe would open doors to a new part of the world for me. I have always wanted to go to Europe, and this person could help me gain better apparitions of the culture and lifestyle within European nation. Perhaps I could learn some Russian or some German Also, I would be exposed to the different music they hear and the types of bands they have. I would determine whether music is as important to the youth there as it is here. I would be shocked to find out how less censored television is in there country. I would gain an incomparable appreciation of art and architecture through learning about the various types of structures they have and their extravagant paintings.
             The individual and I could go out for a traditional European meal and at the same time look through and discuss current events compare to American state of affairs. Next we might enjoy a night out and meet others who have similar aspirations. Since academically the European school system differs from ours through different methods of learning and/or studying, this might encourage me to incorporate their techniques and help me excel in my own field of study.
