Improvement

I believe we can be what ever we would like to be, this includes academics as well. We have the ability to change ourselves into what ever type of student we would like. To relate this to my life, I have trained myself to be more a visual learner. Although I am not perfect I still manage the pick up the needed material. Much of my weaknesses come from my no existent work habits in high school. In looking towards improvement I completed a short survey to better judge where I was in my learning abilities. My results weren't shocking yet slightly disappointing.
Reading: I need to practice more at reading I find it hard to read material that I am not interested in. For example I would much rather read a Cisco Router operations Manuel before reading a novel. But if I practice enough I might start to find enjoyment in these fictional pieces of literature. In this practice is the only way I see of getting remotely close to perfect.
Note Taking: I look at this section and don't really find this a weakness. I am a much better auditory listener then people would like to give me credit for. As long as the class is moving smoothly I can understand what the teacher is saying and lock it away in my head. I can achieve this by merely taking what the teacher says and relate it to my life.
General Study Skills: There is only one way I see to improve this section and that is with time management. I believe I am pretty good with my time but I can always improve. Again high school wasn't a time of learning for me, more of a hiatus from school work. Also writing down things to do is a very big contributing factor to my good work at college thus far.
By keeping this plan in check I don't see a reason why I would be a good student. A student not only who gets good grade but is proud of the grades he gets because he knows he worked hard to get them and not cheat off the smart kids paper.
