Robot City 3 (Book 5) Refuge

             Refuge is only one book of seven that are in the collection of Robot City. Robot City is not Earth. It is another planet that was made by one human, Dr. Avery, who created a world where robots do most of the manual labor. There are few people live there, that are called by the name of "Spacers". These robots have two laws of robotics that are programmed into their positronic brains. The First Law of Robotics is that a robot may not knowingly harm a human being, or knowingly allow a human being to come to harm. The Second Law of Robotics is that the robots must obey the orders of a human being unless it conflicts with the First Law. These robots were not just mere calculators anymore. They could actually have some form of emotion from the First Law. Two "Spacers" named Ariel and Derec were trapped in space while they were trying to escape Dr. Avery from Robot City. They became trapped with two other robots inside their space ship with the Key to Perihelion. After Ariel could n!
             ot take anymore of her disease, her and Derec decided to use the Key. The Key was supposed to take them back to Robot City so Ariel to receive help even though they would most likely be sought out by Dr. Avery. Where the Key actually took them was, Earth. More people than anyone could imagine populated Earth, at this time. People had specific Ids which, when swiped, would tell anyone their social status. Their social status told a person how much food they were rationed, what kind of luxuries they were allowed to have, and what they were allowed to do. With Earth being so crowded, it did everything in masses, not many people drove cars, and people got around the cities on things called strips, having to jump from strip to strip.
