Foreign Service

             The Foreign Service is a challenging and respectable career, satisfying in its importance and worth. The Foreign Service detects difficulties in alliance between the United States and other countries. By making a career of this, one can travel and see not only the things people have always wanted to see, but also actually help the thing people have always wanted to help. This service is for the citizens of the United States. It is a perfect opportunity for those who are looking to travel the world, or who are already doing so. It provides the added benefit of service and help from the United States embassy in case of any problems while traveling. The service also makes treaties and keeps peace with other countries.
             There are many requirements for a Foreign Service worker. To start, one must be at least twenty-one years of age to be a Foreign Service worker. One must have previous professional experience and be readily available to go to another country as early as the following day. It is also recommended to attend a four-year college. One must be extremely knowledgeable in the areas of history, economics, business, geography and other useful tools. On the first Saturday of December of every year, around fifteen thousand people participate in a three-area exam that tests ones oral, physical and written skills. Out of the fifteen thousand applicants participating, less than two percent are chosen. Those who are chosen are placed in an embassy and put on probation until proven worthy of the job.
