It is estimated that there are ten or even hundreds of thousands of victims of cyber stalking according to the government. Additional evidence to this growing problem is the fact that some cyber stalking cases have been turned over from the FBI to U.S. Attorney's office. Several cases have been turned over to state or local law enforcement agencies due to the lack of federal legislation (usdoj.gov 6). Cyber stalking is more common then most would think.
