There are many different varieties of front/end loaders that are out on the market today. These machines come in many different sizes. Al l depending on how big the company you work for or how big the job is being worked on decides what size the equipment should be used. When it comes time to buy a new piece of equipment there are decisions to be made. For example, will this machine help the company make profit in the long run or not. Would the company be better off hiring more help for labor or buying the front/end loader. These are some considerations that need to be thought over before buying a new piece of equipment.
Two prospects I have thought about buying for the company I work for are the Ford 545A and the Cat. 416. Both of these pieces of equipment are used and are close in quality.
The Ford 545A is a diesel with a 24' bucket rear and 1 yard front bucket. The cost of it is 16,600. It also has a covered cab for working under the weather. The other Loader I have chosen is the Cat 416. It is a 4X4 turbo with extend-a-hoe, a closed cab, heat, and a stereo. The front bucket is 1 yard and the back bucket is 18'. Also this loader has only been used approximately 3900 hours. This loader is somewhat more expensive than the Ford.
Both of these loaders would be very useful, but because of the features that the Cat 416 had I bought it instead of the Ford.
FORD Diesel with 24' bucket, closed cab, good condition. $16,600
Cat 4x4 turbo, with extend-a –hoe, closed cab, heat, and a stereo.3900 hrs. $24,000
