Pink Floyd's "The Wall", is a very dark, disturbing, film about a man's self destruction and the hardships he suffered throughout his life. As a young boy Floyd's father was killed in a war, and he grew up an only child with a very protective mother. Floyd was very alone, when he need a male role model the most and for that he grew up depressed. Throughout the film the band's music is played and the lyrics coincide with the film. Two songs portrayed in "The Wall" are "One of My Turns", and "Don't Leave Me Now".
             "One of My Turns" describes Floyd's relationship with his wife. At first they shared a very happy marriage. But as time went on Floyd spiraled into a depression and distanced himself from her. The lyrics describe their current state, "Day after day, love turns gray/Like the skin of a dying man./ Night after night, we pretend it's all right/ But I have grown older and/ You have grown colder and/ Nothing is very much fun anymore" (Floyd 4). Floyd knows that his "turn" is destroying his marriage, but he can not pull himself out of the drugs and depression to reconnect with his life.
             In Pink Floyd's song "Don't Leave Me Now" the film shows Floyd having an angry outburst, and jumping out his hotel window into the pool. Floyd cuts his wrist during his rampage and is floating in a pool of his own blood. The lyrics are played "Ooooh babe, don't leave me now/...I need you, babe" while he has visions of his wife with another man (Floyd 4). Floyd realizes that he has lost her for good because of his own doing and can not deal with reality.
             Pink Floyd's "The Wall" is a film with wild imagery portrayed through documentation and animation. The film provokes ones mind to think and analysis the entire length.
