             For centuries, the human race has been divided by their differences. Men are killed because they look differently or believe different things. Differences between men have caused wars, and created new countries. The United States was founded by men who were discriminated against because of their differences. The Pilgrims uprooted their entire lives and traveled halfway across the world to gain freedom from persecution. Jealousy can be a very powerful feeling when held in the hands of the masses. Because of the confidence placed in the Foundationers by Hari Seldon that they would secede the original Galactic Empire, they original felt invincible. However, as time went on, the threat of the "mythical" Second Foundation, full of mind-readers, and emotion-controllers, the people of the Foundation became increasingly threatened by their lack of psychological power.
