Evolution And Schools
             Darwin's theory of evolution, plain and simply, should be taught as a theory of human development or creation. It may be controversial as far as religeon is concerned, but not everyone is Christian in faith. It should be taught in schools due to the fact that it is a widely accepted theory as well as a possible explanation for human development. It is obsured that most schools due not teach evolution is school. I am a Christian, but I still think it is enlightening to have learned Darwin's evolutionary theory.
             Insecurity is one of the main reasons for people not wanting their kids to learn controversial subjects in school. Yes, some kids may be immature and not capable of actually learning it, but that is if the subject at hand is taught to early. If the theory of evolution was taught in eleventh or twelve grade, the students are mature enough to take what they have learned, and apply it's meaning accordingly. Take sexual-education for example. It is even being taught in eighth grade, and it seems to have an effect on the students. Just because evolution is being taught, the people learning it have the choice to believe it or not.
             On the other hand, evolution should not be taught as if it were history, but as a theory like the big bang theory, etc. Hopefully one day, school boards across the nation will realize this concept, and evolution will be taught. But until then, it will remain controversial enough to not be taught in many schools.
