Personal Learning styles

             Learning styles tell us a lot about ourselves. It is helpful to be aware of one's own learning style for the purposes of learning and teaching. Understanding learning styles is important because everyone has different ways of learning. To gain rapport with a person read his/her learning styles and repeats the process back to them within the same context. Knowing an individual's particular style allows us as students to maximize the educational potential in a training session. Cathy Hadaway the teacher of the "GEN 101" class should teach in many different ways to appease the audience. If she only taught in one style some students would not pick up on many important facts, therefor the students would have a learning style challenge.
             The Are You a Grouper or a Stringer questionnaire reveals that I am a "grouper". I view the whole picture of many situations better than following the rules. I feel that the type of questionnaires given out are situational and not for a definite reference. I am a "grouper" in general and will continue to gather many types of information and topics to accomplish a task.
             I am a very visual person by nature. I learn the best when using all of my senses. The more exposure I have to my sight, feel, and hearing the more I learn. I learn best when being active, discussing facts a little more than relationships, seeing information, and gathering the information in a random manner. It is interesting to note that although I am fairly balanced, the direction that I tend to move toward depends on the subject being discussed. I love learning new facts, but I also enjoy thinking about potentials and possibilities when discussing certain fields.
