             Children are predisposed to lead a violent lifestyle when parents fail to acknowledge the environmental effects society has on young developing minds. It a child comes from a health environment with strong, positive parental involvement, then violence in the media would not disturb them, children can be raised in healthy homes and communities which watch violent media and view the world as a dangerous place. Children are likely to respond violently because of the influence media has played in their lives. Children are molds and most behavior is learned behavior, parents should filter any possible influencing factor the child is exposed to including T.V. violence, peers, school, attitudes and parenting style of the family, because all these factors lead to violence in children. Exposure to violence during childhood should be regulated.
             In 1991, stats show 2.7million children are physically, mentally, or sexually assaulted by their parents every year. It can be said that this is definitely a low statistic because the data is over 10 years old when the population was lower. Parents placing their children in abusive relationships are teaching the children it is acceptable to act out violently whether it lead to sexual, physical, or mental. The aftermath of abuse is violent children growing up to be violent parent raising violent children. Parents are abusing their children and leaving them out there alone to make it in the world. Statistics also show 1to10 school ages come home to an empty household, which leads to children replacing their families with peers.
             When children need support emotionally and mentally, they typically turn to a group of friends. These groups of friendspeers make-up gangs that influence children to make wrong decisions by teaching violence which over time it often leads to drug or alcohol addiction.
