A wake up call

             There is no sound on earth more disgusting or obnoxious than that horrible Beeping sound given off by millions of alarm clocks each morning. Nothing is more relaxing than being in the arms of Morpheus. When He takes hold of a person they become unaware of everything. They know of nothing but the peace and relaxation given from his drowsy embrace. Of course, that all ends when Morpheus starts shrieking "BEEP, BEEP, BEEP" into the ears of the weary who have yet to awake from his grasp. Every night millions of teenagers are having a wonderful time flying around, or hanging out with their friends, or spending some alone time with Nicole Kidman when they are snapped back to reality by that awful buzzer that seems to serve no purpose other than reminding one to get on with there dull insignificant life and return to school at an hour when one begins to question whether or not it really is day. Although starting high school at eight a.m. seems to work fine and changing anything would require a great deal of planning as well as time and money, it is a change that is long overdue. The way things are scheduled now is hurting the educations of teens all across America as well as America its self. This nation will one day rely on its youth to take charge, but do the people really want to rely on a bunch of teens that went through high school without enough sleep to focus on anything they were supposed to learn. Most would rather this country fall into the hands of teens that were allowed to reap the full rewards of a school system that started two hours later. Starting high school two hours later would reduce the daily number of tardy students, allow students to eat a healthier breakfast, reduce their risk of drug abuse, and allow them to get the full amount of rest required to actively participate in their learning environment.
