Innocence

             What is the real meaning of Innocence? The denotation of innocence means freedom from sin, wrong, or guilt or simplicity. It can also mean lack of knowledge or understanding. The connotation of the word innocence is what we use today for the meaning, which is a person who is pure and has not yet been brought out into the evil world. The word innocence has many examples in which to show the meaning. When a person has been accused of a crime that he has not committed he is then categorized as innocent. Another prospect of the word innocence can mean the innocence of a small child. A small child has not yet been brought out into the world. Saying for instance this small child has yet to go through the phase of evil. As mentioned above different interpretations of the word Innocence can be used. The picture shown is how the word innocence is commonly used in the world today.
             Innocence is used for many different meanings. One particular meaning, the innocence of a small child, can be used for several denotations.
             For example, take the book the Scarlet Letter. This book has an example of a townswoman named Hester Prynne. She has committed adultery and in response to that she gives birth to a small child out of sin. Even though the baby was born out of sin, the baby itself still has its innocence. Many people however see the word innocence as a person who has done no wrong doings through out life. Age is not a factor when it comes to innocence. To face reality and be innocent is something a person has to work for.
             No matter how young or old a person may be, that person may not stay innocent forever. Innocence is a word a person finds in the Bible. He can never prove one's innocence, although he can believe it. In some cases innocence has to be earned rather than be given.
