One night Sir Toby, Olivia's uncle, and a few of his friends were drinking and causing a ruckus. Maria, the handmaiden of Olivia, makes an attempt to quiet them down before Malvolio, the steward, does so. However Malvolio berates Sir Toby, and his friends along with the handmaiden. Angry, and wanting revenge, Maria devises a plan to make Malvolio look like a fool. She decides to write love letters to Malvolio saying they were from Olivia. The plan takes flight and works just as planned- leaving Malvolio full of pretension. Now, Olivia has confessed her love for Viola as Cesario and she begs to know if her love is shared.
