In a modern society such as ours, crimes are being committed by children as young as five. We are not just talking about shoplifting or vandalism. These crimes are mild compared to our latest spree; murder. A topic that has been of great discussion here in the U.S.A is whether a minor should charged as an adult in crimes that deal with murder. I feel that at times minors should be held accountable for their actions. In most cases the only factors in a felony crime are either rage or a craving for attention. These kids know that it is wrong to kill someone and they know that there are better ways to deal with the situation or solve the problem. I think that also if laws are taken to the next level (charging a minor as an adult) then that will send a message to all that the American justice system will not fail the people. Also informing the children about the consequences and show them specific instances where someone their age has committed a crime and has not gotten a!
             way with it then they will think again before they act. Kids who commit crimes of murder and rage are taking their own childhood away, Therefore, I see no reason to h old childhood accountable for their own wrongdoings. However, I would also have to agree, that in some cases, other things need to be taken into consideration. Child abuse and neglect are also a big part in minor murder cases. I firmly that if anyone whether it be a child or an adult is in fear of their life and commit a murder then it is no longer "murder" but it becomes a case of self-defense. Then, and only then do I feel that a minor should not be tried as an adult.
             For many decades crime as a whole has gradually picked up speed and the crimes keep getting worse and worse.
