Global Warming: A Cause for Concern

Global warming is definitely an issue that people should be concerned about. If it is disregarded, then our world will alter, and life will drastically change. Imagine never being able to see certain animals and plant life exists. A study in the journal Nature suggests that climate change could doom many species to extinction in the next fifty years. This can become a harsh reality if actions are not taken to prevent it. The overheating of Earth's surface occurs daily and remains unrecognized by some. Wallace Broecker, an Oceanographer at Columbia University, has not forgotten the problem and is ready to address it. Broecker is using his considerable stature to advocate a far-out scheme to slow global warming. Giant machines would absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and the concentrated gas could either be pumped deep under the ground or turned into carbon-rich rocks. This kind of thought process, which Broecker displays through his creation, is great. If machines can be created to eliminate carbon dioxide, then there's better hope for the future.
Global Warming can be a fatal effect on our world. Scientists seem to think that the consequences of global warming can destroy every living thing. Since greenhouse gases cause global warming, it is definite that they will raise the earth's temperature by the middle of the next century. How is this going to affect the earth? Scientists have been studying this matter for years. It seems that scientists are not too sure about what is going to happen. Some do not even know when it is going to happen. Some think that we are in grave danger versus others who seem to think it will not occur until a century later. Scientists feel that global warming will affect the climate severely. James Henson, the director of NASA's Goddard Institute, theorizes that if the average temperature goes up five degrees in the next half-century, there will be major climate shifts. The result of having exce...
