. The similarities between the recent speeches of President Bush and call for freedom by Pope Urban II during the Crusades are astounding. While Pope Urban II had appealed to thousands to free the Holy Land from infidels in promise of salvation, President Bush delivered a speech to the United Nations on November 10, 2001 calling upon all of the civilized nations to bond together to defend ourselves from the wicked, because "the evil has returned".
             President Bush has additionally made numerous references to god in his speeches. By implying that a one single American god was on our side and would therefore ensure our victory he invoked a religious precedent and in effect making this a holy "JUST" war.
