This study examined the attitudes towards spanking among African Americans and Caucasians. A convenience sample was used consisting of 40 participants ranging in ages from 18 to 72. Participants were asked to complete an 8 questions survey pertaining to their attitudes toward spanking. The participants in the study were randomly assigned to complete the study. The main finding was that African American had a significantly more positive attitude toward spanking their children then Caucasians.
             Attitudes On Spanking Among African Americans & Caucasians
             The purpose of this study was to angle attitudes towards spanking among African Americans and Caucasians. It is hypothesized that African Americans will have a significantly more positive towards attitudes spanking than Caucasians.
             There is no research, which shows that spanking works better on African American children than on Caucasian children. An article published by (Haeuser, 1981, p. 62) states that it is not only the spanking that determined whether spanking is better over a certain group then another it is the whole disciplining strategy that the parent uses.
             This study used 40 subjects from ages 18 to 72 years old. The sample consisted of 50% African American and 50% Caucasians. 52.5% of the participants had children and 47.5% without children. These frequencies are shown in Tables 1 and 2.
