This classic movie illustrates stress, influence, and parenting at its finest. The story is about students who fell in love with poetry because of their teacher, Mr. John Keating, and the tragic death of one of them. Mr. Keating, was a part of this elite group called "The Dead Poet Society" when he attended Welton Academy, and something drastic happened within the group when he was apart of it, but it isn't mentioned in the movie. Mr. Keating teaches the boys to be themselves, and not who their parents, or anyone else wants them to be. Given this whole new perspective on life, a group of boys start to follow their own ideas, which are in some way at odds with the conservative policies of the institution and with their parent's expectations. They form a new Dead Poets Society, and hold their exclusive, private meetings in a cave.
             One of the boys whose name was Neil, wanted to take part in a play that was totally against his father's wishes, but Neil had a passion for acting. He talked to Mr. Keating about the situation, and he told him to basically do what he wanted. Neil took the advice that his teacher gave him and proceeded to take part in the play. During the play, Neil noticed his father in the crowd. After the play, Neil confronts his father, but is unable to tell him about his ambitions and then, commits suicide.
             This movie definitely displays the stress and pressure that is caused my parents, and teachers. Would Neil really have committed suicide if Mr. Keating didn't tell him to do what he wanted? No one knows.
