News articles would spell disaster for Bridgestone Corporation from then until now. The company expected the recall to cost $350 million then estimated another $100 million totaling $450 million. The money would be placed into retreading the tire and replacing the 6.5 million. The U.S. subsidiary located in Nashville, Tennessee has taken action by firing Masatoshi Ono, CEO and chairman, and appointing new leadership under John T. Lampe. The subsidiary plans on reducing production and laying off employees to help with its financial resources. Bridgestone will have to do a lot more than that to get sales to where they used to be.
