I looked at every page in this book and read this book from the beginning to the end excluding the Sources page, which starts on page 277.
             In this book report I will be going over the things that I found interesting and things that I can put into use.
             The author of this book, Philip Yancy grew up in Atlanta Georgia as a child, is a well Christian journalist who describes Jesus from his point of view out of the Gospels. Philip Yancy starts out saying that he thought he knew through what he was taught who Jesus actually was. Like everyone else he thought Jesus only in the physical aspect of his life at his young child such as having a long beard, a mustache, and long hair. But what he found out was Jesus just became an object of scrutiny, and he found this out when he was attending the Bible college when he was younger.
             Also at this time he was questioning things that he was taught as a child. Such as, how would telling people to be nice to one another get a man crucified? What government would execute Mister Rogers or even Captain Kangaroo? Thomas Paine said that no religion could be truly divine which has in it any doctrine that offends the sensibilities of a little child. Then goes on to ask if Jesus/Christianity would qualify for the something?
             Philip Yancey moves on to refer to the birth of Jesus, which he got from a television show "Thirty Something". Where one of the actors says "Do you really believe that an angel appeared to some teenage girl who got pregnant without ever having sex and then traveled on horseback to Bethlehem where she spent the night in a barn. Then having the baby who turned out to be the Savior of the World". In this case I the story of Jesus' birth is in a raw form, but is right in what the actor is saying because it is supported
