Unmotivated students, in my definition, are ones who don't have the energy to complete the tasks required at school to earn a good grade. They are either distracted by their peers or they probably don't really care about what's important. Unmotivated students can be found anywhere and can be categorized into groups such as jocks, preppies, skaters, rockers, and thugs.
             Through my experience, jocks are unmotivated because of their status in school. They are held up in a certain light that makes them think that they are better than everyone else. Since they carry that certain mentality, they feel that they don't have to concentrate on school work as much as they should. All they worry about is the sport they play, and to try to earn a grade just enough to pass so they can stay in. If I were to the sense of sound to describe them, I would say that they sound obnoxious and loud. They like to pick on the smaller people and don't really care about anything else but their status.
             To continue, preppies are the one's who come from upper class families. They are used to getting things handed to them and are worried about impressing others with materialistic items. They don't pay much attention in class and are more worried about being with their friends and where they are on the social ladder. They generally tend to be loud and lack intelligence within their conversations with their peers. You can tell by their partying habits and always being with their friends, that their school work doesn't really hit the top of their list of priorities.
             In fact, skaters are some of the most unmotivated students at school. Their time is consumed by trying to have fun with their friends and joke around most of the time.
