ocrats filed a motion in Flor!
ida State court. The motion asked for the manual recount of all the votes in Broward County. The next important court battle was the Florida Supreme Court's ruling to end the manual recounts in Miami-Dade County. The ensuing major development was Florida Supreme Court's order of a full manual recount of the 45,000 undervotes. The last and probably most important event of the campaign for the Presidency in 2000 was when the Federal Supreme Court voted 5 to 4 to stay the Florida Supreme Court's decision to recount the 45,000 undervotes. Thus handing the Presidency over to Gov. Bush and essentially ending the month long court battles. Although the attorneys for Gore tried to appeal there was really no more chances left for Al Gore's hope to be the nation's next president.
