             Cinematic Views on, "The Deep End Of the Ocean"
             The bond between a mother and child is one of the most precious and priceless tokens of life. When this bond is destroyed or taken away due to a non-caring and selfish kidnapper, loved ones are left to mourn and grief with harsh guilt. In the movie, "Deep End Of the Ocean," the director uses cinematic techniques to interpret the feeling of guilt. The feelings of guilt can occur even if the situation isn't anyone's fault. Close-ups, sound, and lighting all help to interpret the feelings and view of guilt in, "Deep End Of the Ocean."
             Using close-ups to show the feeling of resentment, hurt and guilt can distinguish a good movie from a great movie. Close-ups add spice and juice to a movie showing the personal value that the characters endure as different emotions come and go. The first scene that the director uses to show guilt is when the mother was attending her tenth year high school reunion. She had to bring along her children due to lack of babysitters. As she turns around one quick minute and then back again she discovers her young boy missing. The look in the young moms face let alone defines the term guilt. Using the close-up method the audience can make out the hurt and guilt the mother felt. The next scene was that of the father. Sometimes when people are angry they use harsh words that could tear up a person inside, and not mean what they had said at all. The father found out about his beloved son and was very angry at the mother. Even though these things happen all the time he never suspected to!

After he said what he had said and thought it over he too had a great deal of guilt and regretted every word.
