Snap The Whip

The painting Snap The Whip was painted by Winslow Homer. It was originally painted in 1872. The painting shows a real life scene. Instead of painting people just standing in one place with their best clothes on Winslow Homer drew people in normal life activities. Such as kids playing in the fields with their friends.
The story takes place in a field of a farm. There is a red farmhouse in the back round. In the fore ground there are flowers. The flowers are red, yellow, white, and green. It is spring so the flowers are just blossoming and it is just beginning to get warm. There are a few fluffy clouds in the sky. It is a nice sunny day.
The people in the painting are all boys. There eight boys. They are wearing trousers, shirts, jackets, suspenders, and caps. They are all barefoot. They look they are about eleven or twelve years old. They are playing a game known as snap the whip where the kids spin around and the kid on the end gets thrown down. In the picture there is already a boy on the floor.
The mood of this poem is very happy. The kids look they are very happy. It looks like a very easy- going environment. They look like they have no worries because of the fun time they are having.
I really don't like this painting. It is a painting of a pointless game that I think is really boring
